There is plenty to do in the woodland toi keep you busy during your stay but if you wanted to venture out then there are many activities nearby.

There is a friendly pub in the village of Smisby (The Smisby Arms) which is only a ten minute walk away.

 

Tollgate Brewery and the Milking Parlour offer great pizzas and their own beers, just a 35 minute walk away.

​

There is a brilliant butchers and farm shop (Standleys Barn Farm) about 40 minutes walk or 5 minute drive away.

 

There is an excellent walk through the adjoining fields which gets you to the Calke Abbey National Trust park.  There is a cafe, restaurant and lots of activities for families.

 

The town of Ashby De La Zouch is less than a ten minute drive.

There are plenty of routes for cycling too, with access to Foremark Reservoir and the tracks which surround it.
